Mr. Butler's Experience
I have a Bachelor's of Music in Music Education, and Masters of Music in Music Education. Both degrees are from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
I currently serve on the SWR High School Marching Band staff in addition to my normal teaching schedule.
Before I started at SWRMS, I was the Instrumental Music Teacher at Southwest Guilford High School from 2008-2015. There I taught the Marching Band, Concert Bands, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, Percussion Ensemble, yearly musical, Color Guard, Solo and Ensemble Program, Piano Lab and AP Music Theory Class.
I marched trumpet with the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps from Allentown, PA in 2006.
I regularly perform as a freelance musician, marching band judge, recording session player, and music arranger in central North Carolina. I am the Musical Director of the Randolph Community Jazz Band.
